Project Atlantic is the independent solo project of New Jersey-based musician Josh Zimmer. Drawing from the sounds of indie rock, dream pop, and shoegaze, Zimmer has been crafting lush, emotionally driven music since his late teens—all from the confines of his bedroom studio. With a strong DIY ethic and an academic background in music, he writes, records, and produces every track himself.
Beyond the music, Project Atlantic has cultivated a vibrant online presence, amassing over 130,000 followers on Instagram, 63,000 on TikTok, and more than 70,000 YouTube subscribers. Known for his viral music related sketches and inventive takes on time signatures, Zimmer’s content bridges the gap between music theory and humor, resonating with a wide audience. In 2024, he brought his digital world to the stage, performing live with comedian Fred Armisen (SNL, Portlandia, Wednesday) at The Fillmore Philadelphia, blending time signature counting and comedy in front of a packed crowd. With both music and online content, Project Atlantic's goal is focused on making meaningful, creative work that connects with others on a variety of levels. |
