Capturing an environment is a tricky thing. Believe me, I've been trying to do it correctly for well over a year.
With this project, I tried my best to communicate the feeling of being alone in the great outdoors. Not just with the images but also the sound. Water moving, birds chirping, and wind blowing is a huge, if not the biggest, element of nature. As for the second half of the piece, I couldn't resist setting the footage to music so I used a song called "Rumpus Reprise" by Karen O, a piece originally written for the film "Where the Wild Things Are" (great film by the way). It's fun, childlike, and there's a certain sincerity about it that I think fits well with the landscape.
So sit back, relax, and keep your eyes and ears open.
We are blessed to exist in a place with such beauty.
