It's finally done! The second EP from Project Atlantic will be available for free this Friday.
It consists of 3 tracks spanning a little over 10 minutes. Each one different from the other. The track listing is as follows:
1. Before - A lo-fi piano piece based off of a small idea I came up with a few weeks ago on Easter Sunday. It's simple, the playing is sloppy, the piano is out of tune, and there's a ton of background noise. However, that's exactly the point. There's something I find appealing about low quality recordings. It makes me feel like I am listening to the past.
2. Transit - An electronic piece that was released last month as a single. It was originally written as a score for some footage I shot while traveling through California, hence the title. Electronic sounds are neither my favorite nor my forte but there's a catchiness to the melody that I'm drawn to.
3. I Am Here and so Are You - One of my favorites. If there is ever a "Best of Project Atlantic" album this will be on it. I wanted to write a piece that was like one from the final scene of a great film. The only problem was, the film doesn't exist. So I made up a scene in my mind (what the scene was I'll keep to myself) and wrote music that would seem to fit it. It's a somewhat unorthodox way to create music but I found it to be a fun, exciting, and challenging process. When you listen to it, make sure you listen to it LOUD.
Finally, here's another promo for the EP. It contains music from the track "I Am Here and so Are You".
Thanks for listening.
